Aneurysm

What is an aneurysm?

An aneurysm is a condition which causes artery enlargement due to arterial wall weakness. This condition occurs when the pressure of the blood forces the weakest artery to balloon outward or if there is a weakening of blood vessels for a different reason. It is an abnormal bulge in the blood vessel wall which can rupture, leading to internal bleeding and often causes death. Usually, this condition doesn’t cause any symptoms, so it becomes difficult to identify even when it’s large. It affects the aorta, thoracic aortic, brain, blood vessels in other body parts, and abdominal aortic.

FAQs

There is no research which proves that stress causes an aneurysm, but it is found that stress and strong emotions like aggressiveness or being upset increases blood pressure and causes an aneurysm to burst.
