Stress is one of the most commonly faced problems all across the globe as it affects millions of individuals. It usually affects teenagers and younger adults which leads to depression and mental health issues. Stress affects more individuals than one might think. One can have a small amount of pressure,  stress, and anxiety to complete a particular task but when this stress is prolonged and becomes intense in such cases it affects the physical and mental health of a person.

Professionals can divide stress into acute stress and chronic stress. Acute stress is short-lived and usually lasts a few minutes to a few hours and it is typically event related. Generally, it doesn't affect the mental health of a person in the long run but it might cause damage in that particular movement if the stress is sudden  or shocking for the person such as in the case of a natural disaster and assault, or trauma. In the case of chronic stress that lasts for a longer duration of time aur recurs in such cases it puts a lot of pressure on the person and one can see the difference in the stress in their day-to-day life as the typical symptoms of stress and depression become quite visible. In such cases, medical health is required along with emotional support, love, and care.

Stress is one of the primary reasons that cause mental health problems as it does a lot of brain churning and the person subconsciously over-thinks a lot.

Stress is capable of causing existing problems to worse such as it can develop mental health problems like depression and anxiety that might lead to post-traumatic stress disorder or PTSD. A person suffering from mental health has problems coping each day; the person seems to be lost which may cause life-threatening conditions. For instance, they become forgetful, which could be dangerous in any circumstantial situation. Further, depression caused due to stress usually drags a person towards drugs and alcohol in order to keep themselves relieved and help them to cope with the stress. This further deteriorates the mental health of a person and it is seen that people become clueless due to the entire situation. Therefore, it is necessary that one should not isolate themselves when they are stressed or depressed and one must concentrate and talk to someone in order to gain perspective and they must ask for help. Usually, people are trapped in their loneliness and keep them isolated which is something one should strictly prohibit themselves from. One should try to keep themselves busy and try to enroll themselves in different hobbies which keep the brain active and helps in reducing stress.

There are several physical and emotional symptoms of stress that one can notice, some of which include:

  • Body pain
  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Confusion
  • Feeling lethargic
  • Digestive issues
