Nose Surgery

During the procedure, the anesthesia doctor administers local or general anesthisia to sedate the patient. Depending on the type of rhinoplasty, the surgeon makes an incision inside the nose in case of closed surgery or across the columella in case of open surgery. The surgeon raises the skin which covers the nasal tissues and cartilage through this incision to gain access to the internal structure of the nose.

The surgeon begins to reshape the nose according to the preference and requirement of the patient. In some cases, the surgeon may need to add cartilage grafts to enhance the shape and size of the nose. If necessary, patients may also have to undergo septoplasty to correct the deviated septum. • Take regular medications for the swelling, bruising and mild discomfort until the doctor’s prescription. Avoid strenuous activity and heavy lifting. 
• Take baths instead of showers while there are bandages on your nose
• Eat high-fibre foods, such as fruits and vegetables to avoid constipation. Constipation can put strain and pressure on the nasal cavity
• Since the skin becomes extra sensitive, limit your exposure to the sun
• Go for regular health checkups.
