A 13-day-old newborn in Kolkata, born with Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA), a critical congenital heart defect, was given a new lease on life through a complex neonatal heart surgery at BM Birla Heart Hospital. A team of expert pediatric cardiac surgeons, including Dr. Kuntal Roy Chowdhuri, Dr. Shyamajit Samaddar, Dr. Pravir Kumar Das, and Dr. Satarupa Mukherjee, successfully performed the Arterial Switch Operation, a highly intricate procedure that requires precision and expertise.
