What is endodontics?

Endodontics is a dentistry branch emphasising on the study and treatment of the dental pulp and the tissues surrounding the teeth roots. Endodontics procedure is performed by endodontists who are specialised dentists who have undergone through special training in endodontics for diagnosing and treating the dental pulp problems. 

The main goal of this treatment is saving infected teeth because of decay, injury, or many other factors. The most common procedures involved in endodontics treatment are root canal therapy, and apical surgery. 

Root canal therapy is among the most performed and common endodontic procedures. It involves the removal of the damaged or infected dental pulp. This procedure ensures eliminating the infection, relieves pain, and preserves the natural structure of the tooth.
