A Complex Case of laparoscopic hysterectomy

Obstetrics and Gynaecology | Posted on 12/21/2022 by RBH

A 52-year-old patient consulted senior gynaecologist at RBH, Jaipur. She had complaints of frequent abdominal pain and heavy vaginal bleeding for the last 3 months. After her USG, the doctor discovered an enlarged uterus and a thick-walled cystic lesion attached to it.

Gynecologists performed a laparoscopic hysterectomy (uterus removal) with a bilateral salpingectomy (removal of fallopian tubes) under her expert supervision. The surgery was a success and the patient recovered completely. She returned to her daily routine with a few preventive measures suggested by the doctor. The biopsy confirmed that the mass was non-cancerous degenerated uterine cystic fibroid.
