These radioactive materials are known as radiotracers and are injected, inhaled, or ingested into the bloodstream. These radioactive substances or radiotracers travel through the system and reach the desired area and emit gamma rays. The gamma rays are then captured by a camera specially designed to read these rays and take pictures of the inside of the body.
