Dr. Khawer Naveed Siddiqui

Dr. Khawer Naveed Siddiqui, MBBS, MRCP (UK), FACC, FESC, FRCP (Edin), is an internationally renowned physician and cardiologist with over two decades of excellence in clinical practice, research, and cardiovascular education. He currently serves as Consultant and Head, Department of Preventive Cardiology at B M Birla Heart Research Centre, Kolkata.

A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), the European Society of Cardiology (FESC), and the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (FRCP Edin), Dr. Siddiqui has established himself as a leader in preventive and rehabilitative cardiology. As President of Heart Friends Around the World (2014–2020), he pioneered global collaboration in cardiac prevention and rehabilitation, uniting specialists and communities in the cause of heart health awareness.

Dr. Siddiqui’s longstanding association with the World Heart Federation reflects his stature in international cardiology. He was honoured as “Member of the Month” in March 2016, and has served as invited faculty and chairperson at several World Heart Federation Global Summits—in Singapore (2017), Dubai (2018), and Geneva (2022). His expertise is also widely recognized by the Ibero-American Society for Cardiology Prevention and Rehabilitation, where he has been an invited speaker and chairperson at major congresses in Ecuador, Portugal, Italy, and Peru.

An Ex-Consultant Cardiologist at King Fahad Cardiac Centre and Hospital, Al Baha, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Siddiqui’s global career has been marked by distinguished service in both clinical and academic spheres. He also practices as a Visiting Cardiologist at the Sleep Care Clinic, Leicester, UK, contributing to global efforts in cardiac and sleep medicine integration   He is a Visiting Professor at the National Institute of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery, Havana University of Medical Sciences, Cuba, and has delivered guest lectures at the Postgraduate Medical School, Department of Cardiology, Grochowski Hospital, Warsaw, Poland (2018). He also serves as Board Member, General Council, Fundación Sanitus, Porto, Portugal, and Editorial Board Member, Cuban Journal of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery.

Deeply committed to advancing cardiovascular science, Dr. Siddiqui has been actively involved for over a decade in collaborative research and innovation with the Indian Institute of Chemical Biology (IICB), Jadavpur University, and the National Research Council (CNR), Pisa, Italy. His research focuses on preventive cardiology, lipid metabolism, inflammation, and metabolic risk, with over 19 international publications in journals such as Antioxidants (MDPI), Atherosclerosis, FASEB BioAdvances, and Indian Heart Journal.

Beyond academia, Dr. Siddiqui’s commitment to public health awareness is reflected in his radio interview in Porto, Portugal (2019), where he discussed preventive strategies and community-level cardiac care.
