Dr. Ghosh passed his MBBS from NRS Medical College (Calcutta University) in 1971, following which he obtained his MD in General Medicine from IPGMER & SSKM Hospital in 1978. He took his first training in Neurology under the guidance of Professor Ian MacDonald at Queensquare, The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, London. Thereafter, he obtained his MRCP from the Royal College of Physicians, London and he went on to become Senior Registrar and worked there between 1980 to 83 and later worked as Consultant Neurologist, at Regional Neurology Center, Morriston General Hospital, Swansea, Wales. On his return to India, he obtained his DM in Neurology from Calcutta University and worked in several of Kolkata’s most reputed medical institutions. He also has immense experience in teaching medical students as Professor of Neurology. He has been actively involved in research, as Principal Investigator with more than 17 internationally approved drug trials in various neurological disorders, the highest number in the state of West Bengal. Dr. Ghosh, was also awarded the prestigious lifetime achievement award by the Madras Neurotrust in 2018.
