Dr. Rathijit Mitra is a Neurosurgeon with over 13 years of experience in Neurosurgery and a total of 23 years of experience as a doctor.
He completed his MBBS from Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial medical College, (Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University), Raipur in 1999. He did his MRCS from Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Dublin in 2009. He trained in Neurosurgery in the United Kingdom mostly in Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham and Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield.
He has done a fellowship in the prestigious Neurocritical Care Unit in Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge before starting his residency in Neurosurgery.
He has done a Fellowship of European Board of Neurological Surgeons from Barcelona, Spain and FRCSED in Neurosurgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK which is the oldest and most prestigious Surgical College in the world.
He has also done a Spinal Neurosurgery fellowship from Salford Royal Hospital, Salford, Greater Manchester and a Paediatric Neurosurgery fellowship from the world-renowned John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. He has set up a state of art Neurosurgery unit in a 300 bedded hospital in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh in 2023.
He specialises in Trauma Neurosurgery, Hydrocephalus, Spinal Neurosurgery, Paediatric Neurosurgery and Neuro-oncology and has a keen interest in endoscopic Neurosurgical procedures as well.
