What are the initial warning signs of having heart arrhythmia?

Heart arrhythmia is a condition of the heart in which the heartbeat becomes irregular. Irregular heartbeats occur when the electrical signals that coordinate with the heart do not work properly, as a result, the heart either beats too fast which is known as tachycardia or it beats too slow which is known as bradycardia. The irregularity of the heartbeat is generally known as heart arrhythmia. One can notice the irregularity of a heartbeat as it feels like fluttering or a racing heart like when someone walks very fast. When a person does tedious work such as racing, walking, taking up the stairs, playing football or any sports the heart requires more oxygen and for that reason, it beats fast but it cannot be considered a heart condition ( heart arrhythmia). But if a person is experiencing the same racing heart or slow heartbeat and has a problem in breathing and feels chest discomfort then one must seek medical help as it might be a sign of an underlying heart condition that could be life-threatening.

Different types of Heart Arrhythmia:

The two basic types of heart with me as mentioned above are

1. Bradycardia

It refers to a slow heart condition in this the heartbeat of a resting heart is 60 beats per minute.  Bradycardia can be of two types.

Conduction block is a condition in which A block triggers the heartbeat to slow down due to disturbed heart electrical pathways. One should be unable to notice in such conditions.

Sick sinus syndrome is a condition in which the sinus node which is responsible for the impulse of the heartbeat does not work properly which causes the heartbeat to become too slow. This is usually caused due to scarring near the sinus node that disturbs or blocks the electrical impulses.

2. Tachycardia

It is a condition that refers to a fast or racing heartbeat condition; in this, the heartbeat can be over 100 beats per minute. Tachycardia can be of different types such as

Atrial fibrillation is a temporary condition in which heart signaling causes an uncoordinated and rapid heartbeat.

Supraventricular tachycardia is another condition that includes irregularity in the heart ventricles that causes heart palpitations that begin and end abruptly.

Ventricular fibrillation is a condition where the electrical signals in the lower heart or the ventricles obstruct the heart to pump blood to the rest of the body. It is a serious condition that might lead to life-threatening conditions.
