About Dr. Avik Bhattacharya

Dr. Avik Bhattacharyya serves as the Head of the Interventional Radiology Department at CK Birla Hospitals. With over 15 years of experience, he has specialized in various advanced procedures including RF and laser ablation of varicose veins, angioplasty for peripheral vascular disease, and treatment of leg ulcers. His expertise extends to central venous access and venoplasty, transjugular liver biopsy, IVC and hepatic vein stenting, vena cava filter placement, and transjugular intrahepatic porto-systemic shunt (TIPS). Additionally, Dr. Bhattacharyya is proficient in uterine fibroid embolization, embolization for enlarged prostate, and ablation of tumors in the liver, lung, kidney, and bone. He also performs USG-guided FNAC and biopsies, as well as fallopian tube recanalization.
Dr. Bhattacharyya is a life member of several prestigious organizations, including the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association, the Indian Society of Gastroenterology, and the Indian Society of Vascular & Interventional Radiology. He has contributed to numerous national and international publications in the field of radiology and interventional radiology.
